Former member of parliament for Bukwo County Toskin Bartille died instantly after a vehicle he was moving in was involved in an accident at Bukobooli village, ten kilometers along the Iganga to Mbale highway.
Toskin was moving with his wife Mary Toskin and daughter Stella Toskin to Kampala from Bukwo district when the speeding Vitara vehicle registration number UAJ 292Q he was moving in over turned several times after loosing control.
The incident happened on June 7 at around 8pm.
According to an eye witness, Moshi Tenywa said the driver of the speeding vehicle the deceased was moving in lost control after one of its front tyres burst before over turning several times.
The driver of the vehicle only identified as Moshi took off immediately after the accident with minor injuries.
The deceased also served as resident district commissioner for Iganga district from 2007-2010.
He served as Member of Parliament Bukwo constituency Bukwo district in the eighth parliament.
The deceased’s wife and daughter were by press time transferred to Mulago main hospital with broken legs and hands.
The district police commander Iganga,Vicent Mwesigye attributed the accident to over speeding and recklessness.
Mwesigye cautioned drivers avoid driving beyond the recommended speed limit avoid similar incidents.
