Government Replaces Murdered Prosecutor Joan Kagezi

Following the murder of government Prosecutor Joan Kagezi and thus hampering the case which she was handling of 13 individuals who are accused of participating in July 2010 Kampala bomb attacks, government is set to shake off the dust and proceed with the case.

According to information from a closed door meeting held today at High court in Kampala chaired by Justice Alifonsi Winyi Dolo, the Directorate of Public Prosecution has deployed a team of five prosecutors to revive this case which is slated to resume at 8th June.

The new five appointed members are being led by Senior State Attorney Okalanyi Suzan while others are Thomas Jatiko, John Bosco Asiimwe, Reachel Bikhole and Linno Anguzu.

According to reliable sources in the closed door meetings these five are going to be provided with body guards who have been equipped with modern defense skills.

On top of that, all defense counsels in this case are also going to be provided with armed security personnel.

Hearing of this case had stopped for a while following the murdering of the state prosecutor Joan Kagezi at Kiwatule as she was heading to her home.

However, state says it has now finalized preparations to resume with this case
